 Part Time Receptionist

Principle Accountabilities:

  • To promote a helpful and professional image to hotel guests by giving full co-operation to any guest requiring assistance, with a prompt and caring attitude
  • To anticipate guest needs whenever possible to enhance quality service and in turn enhance client satisfaction
  • To give full cooperation to any colleague requiring assistance in a prompt and helpful manner and to be flexible in assisting around the hotel in response to business and guest needs
  • Maintain regular and effective communication with colleagues by being involved and contributing to team meetings
  • Follow the shift open and closing procedures accurately
  • Assist in keeping the hotel reception area clean and tidy, at all times
  • Deal with all enquiries in a professional and courteous manner, in person, on the telephone or via e-mail
  • Proactively encourage guests to provide feedback on guest comment cards or online internet sites
  • Administer all reservations, cancellations and no-shows, in line with company policy
  • Keep up to date with current promotions and hotel pricing, to provide information to guests, on request, while maximizing bedroom sales opportunities
  • Fulfill all reasonable requests from guests to ensure their comfort, satisfaction and safety
  • Report any maintenance issues immediately to your line manager, including all furniture, fittings and equipment
  • Carry out instructions given by the management team and head office
  • To ensure the minimum standards of performance are adhered to and are carried out effectively
  • Ensure any customer complaints are dealt with in a professional manner and inform line manager of any such complaints
  • Ensure all financial procedures including safe and float checks are carried out on a daily basis and recorded in line with company policy
  • Ensure staff dress code is adhered to at all times
  • To carry out any other reasonable task as asked by the General Manager
  • To identify and report maintenance issues and hazards in the work place to line manager
  • To comply with statutory and legal requirements for fire, health and safety, licensing and employment and to ensure that members of the team are also aware of these requirements and are working in accordance to these requirements
