New Lanark Hotel is uniquely situated in the centre of the UNESCO New Lanark World Heritage Site. One of Scotland’s six UNESCO World Heritage Sites, New Lanark is an 18th-century cotton mill village sitting alongside the picturesque River Clyde. The Village and it's surroundings offer a fascinating range of activities to explore during your stay.
The Visitor Attraction is currently closed and will reopen when we can do so safely. We aim to reopen the Visitor Attraction from May 28th, 2021.
The award-winning New Lanark Visitor Attraction tells the internationally important story of New Lanark, from its founding as a cotton spinning village in 1785 to the enlightened social and workplace reforms of Robert Owen in the early nineteenth century. Visitors may also explore the modernisation and changes of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries through to the closure of the mills in 1968. Since 1974, New Lanark has been restored and brought back to life, and was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001 for its Outstanding Universal Value, Authenticity and Integrity.
The Visitor Attraction will be open weekends, 11am - 5pm and 7 days a week throughout the Scottish School Holidays.
